The shape of resilience for a growing business

Most growing businesses can tell you they take backups and have insurance. Far fewer can tell you, with confidence, how long they would actually be down if a server failed, a supplier had an outage, or a ransomware attack hit overnight - or what it would cost per hour while they waited to find out. Somewhere between 50 and 250 people, dependencies multiply faster than anyone's plan for when one of them breaks.

Without tested resilience, recovery plans exist mostly on paper - a backup that's never been restored, a failover that's never been tried, a continuity plan nobody outside IT has read. The first real test is usually the outage itself, at the worst possible moment.
