Do you have a
pile of old IT equipment sat gathering dust in the corner of your office? Have you considered how the IT waste your business produces should be disposed of? Have you given thought to your company's carbon foot-print and ways of minimising your consumption and waste?
Most business owners these days can answer yes to at least one of those questions which is why ITbuilder can now offer an easy way to ensure that old, unused IT equipment is safely and properly disposed of.
It is now more important than ever to ensure that your business is not contributing to the issue of global waste. IT equipment is cheaper than ever and the technology is advancing at such a rate that we are replacing equipment far more frequently than in the past. Electrical and electronic waste has become the fastest growing waste stream in the UK with around 1.8 million tonnes generated every year.
To address this issue, the government has introduced a new directive called the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations. The WEEE Regulations apply to importers, producers, retailers and users of EEE, and to businesses that treat or recover WEEE.
The regulations aim to:
- reduce waste from electrical and electronic equipment
- encourage the separate collection of WEEE
- encourage treatment, reuse, recovery, recycling and sound environmental disposal of WEEE
- make producers of EEE responsible for the environmental impact of their products
- improve the environmental performance of all those involved during the lifecycle of EEE.

To assist your business in complying with these regulations, we have partned with one of the few UK electrical waste disposal firms that guarantees that all IT waste processed through their plants is properly and thoroughly recycled into components parts to ensure that no equipment can be reused or resold.
Please read-on through this section to find out why our IT Recycling service is the simplest way to ensure that all of your company's IT waste is simply and securely processed, making it easy to be green.
